Day 2

Day 2 of the 5 Day Fast Track Fitness & Diet Plan

Self Check

So how do you know if you’re making progress if you don’t know where you started? In today’s session we’ll go through all the things you take stock in before you begin a new fitness or diet plan. If you are new to exercising, have been sedentary for longer than 6 months or have more than 25% of body weight to lose – a great source of information for new exercisers can be found <here> at SparkPeople.  And, before starting any new fitness program, you should check with your doctor first to ensure it is safe for you to begin.

 Take Action!

1)      Take “before” pictures – put on exercise clothes and take your picture from front and side – no one has to see these but you if you are embarrassed, but TRUST ME, you’ll want these pictures later to compare how amazing you’re going to look in the weeks and months ahead (even a snap in the bathroom mirror works!)

2)      Take your measurements – use a basic set and stick to it:

  1. Weight
  2. Body Fat – if you have a consistent way to measure
  3. Chest
  4. Waist
  5. Hips
  6. Right/Left Thigh (make sure it is done in the same place each time – tip of middle finger while standing)
  7. Right/Left Calf
  8. Right/Left Bicep

3)      Take a Fit Test – if your program does not have one (i.e. the P90X program comes with a fit test), you can sign up for FREE club membership with Team Beachbody and track all your measurements plus there is a good basic fit test there.

Click here to sign up for FREE Team Beachbody Club membership

Once you have a login – go to Get FitFitness ToolsFitness Tracker

From there you can enter all your measurements and also click on the Take the Fitness Test

4)      Additional health checks you should get would be cholesterol and blood pressure – especially if you already know you are borderline high on either – you’ll be able to see how a healthy diet  and exercise program can help you get back to normal ranges and in many cases reduce medications.

5)      Reassess these measurement on a regular basis – weigh yourself daily or weekly, take your measures monthly or at the end of a particular phase in your fitness program, check your blood pressure and cholesterol based on doctor recommendation.

NOTE about the free Team Beachbody Club membership – once you sign up there are MANY resources available to you there besides tracking your progress and taking the fit test.  We’ll talk more about that in another session!

Now Take Action and we’ll see you tomorrow for Day 3!
